Gillian Aitchison RVN & Clinical Admin

Gillian joined the Flett & Carmichael team at the very beginning back in 2002 and qualified as Registered Veterinary Nurse from North Highland College in 2008 with a NVQ level 3 in Veterinary Nursing.

In practice Gillian enjoys most aspects of nursing, and particularly producing handouts and displays to keep our clients up-to-date, as well as keeping our records up to date and organised. She took on the Clinical Admin role in April 2022 which involves processing Insurance Claims, wholesale and processing orders. She also enjoys spreading her love for animals, with talks at local schools and clubs in Orkney, and has a special interest in hedgehogs. She often has one or two at home to foster.

Gillian finds her role very rewarding with interests in medical conditions and treatments saying that ‘The best thing about the job is the variety of cases we deal with, one day is never the same as the next’.
