Practice Information
Appointments
Our main consulting hours are by appointment from 9.00 - 9.30 am, 2.00 - 2.30, and 5.30 - 6.00 pm on weekdays and 10.00 - 11.00 am on Saturdays. We know that many of our clients cannot manage these times due to distance and ferry times. Please telephone for an appointment at an alternative time and we will do our best to accommodate you.
We have kennel facilities and are happy for you to leave your animal with us before or after your appointment. We ask that you should have your animal suitably restrained in the surgery, on a lead or in a carrier. We also request that dogs are allowed to empty bladder and bowels before coming to the surgery.
We have ample parking for cars and lorries on site, and you may also bring farm animals and horses to the surgery for consultations. Please phone for an appointment before coming. This is important to ensure a vet will be available and also to comply with bio-security regulations.
Visits
We can visit any animal on request, although we may advise attendance at the surgery for pets to allow quicker treatment with better facilities on hand. We ask clients to call as early in the day as possible if they want a vet to visit.
Emergency cases will always be seen as soon as possible and will take priority and we ask clients to be understanding on the occasions we may be delayed.
We travel regularly to the North and South Isles as required.
Emergencies - Out of hours
We provide a comprehensive 24 hour emergency service 365 days of the year. If you telephone the surgery outside normal working hours you will be given our out of hours telephone number to call. The answering service will contact one of our vets for you who will ring you straight back to give you advice or see your animal.
Payment
We are always happy to give you an estimate of price before any procedure or treatment. We require that small animal treatments are paid for at the time. Farm and horse work will be invoiced at the end of the month. We accept credit and debit card payments, in person and over the phone, as well as cash and cheques. In the event of accident or illness costs of treatments can mount up and we recommend to our clients that they consider insuring their animals against vet fees. We have details of a range of insurers available on request. However, even if your animal is insured we require payment for treatment at the time and this must then be claimed back from the insurance company.
